highlights - the 10th annual family conference on neutropenia
One-on-one consultations
Meet privately with SCN experts for a one-on-one consultation to discuss the diagnosis and treatment of your neutropenia. We accommodate as many requests as possible.
Networking
An important part of the conference, we want attendees to get to know each other. The Neutropenia Family Conference is a time to share stories and tips for living well with neutropenia. These exchanges happen informally throughout the conference and during lectures and discussion forums.
Information
The basics: every conference includes a session that details the function of the neutrophil and describes each type of neutropenia.
The clinical management: dental care, dosing, and nutrition are among the topics covered in this session.
Research: physicians will go over the latest research on neutropenia and discuss related implications as well as talk about research planned for the future.
The Registry: an update on the Severe Chronic Neutropenia International Registry grant and plans for the coming years.
Coping: each conference includes sessions on the living well with a rare disease. Topics include work, family, school, relationships, care givers role, emotional challenges and seeking outside help.
Special session: every year we delve into a topic of special interest for neutropenic patients. Dental care and bone health are two examples of the type of topics we have covered. This year’s topic is not yet determined but we will update the website and newsletters as plans are confirmed.
The Venue
Rancho Bernardo Inn Golf Resort and Spa is a beautiful award winning property complete with lush gardens, two heated swimming pools, access to golf and tennis. The rooms all have refrigerators.
The Rancho Bernardo Inn is not only a fabulous venue; it is family friendly offering extraordinary amenities for children and adults. We are fortunate that a past Conference attendee who cares deeply about our cause, works for a sister property. She has helped us secure a great room rate and will be working closely with the Network throughout the planning process.
Stay tuned to this website for more information as it is released.
