Update on Neupogen Availability – Email Blast sent 3/5/25 at 1:36 pm EST
We want to make our community aware of a temporary disruption in the distribution of Neupogen from Amgen. This issue affects all patients who receive Neupogen. While we have been informed that it may take several weeks to resolve, there is currently no confirmed timeline for availability. If you rely on Neupogen, we strongly encourage you to speak with your hematologist as soon as possible to discuss alternative options, such as a biosimilar, during this interim period. If you have insurance, you may also want to check your drug coverage to avoid potential delays in accessing a suitable alternative. Please note that the volume per dose may vary between different G-CSF brands and formulations, and some brands offer prefilled syringes. It is essential to discuss these details with your hematologist to ensure you receive the most appropriate option. You may also want to ask your hematologist if you should recheck blood counts after starting a new G-CSF to confirm it is maintaining your levels as expected. We recognize the challenges this presents and want to assure you that although we are an independent organization not affiliated with KnipperRX or Amgen, we will actively be staying in contact with them to monitor the situation, as well as the SCNIR for any information they may receive. Your hematologist remains your best resource for personalized guidance, and we will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available. |
